Designed for Quick Installation and
Removal
Convert
your standard Eldorado Mega 50 or Mega 75 for use as a counter-rotating
gundrilling machine.
Counter-rotating your workpieces when machining on-center holes
drastically improves straightness and concentricity. A 1.62" ID hollow
spindle lets you machine long workpieces from both sides on a short
stroke machine, reducing tooling expense and increasing the capacity of
existing equipment.
Standard
GD series drill bushings are still used when gundrilling with a
counter-rotating workpiece. Chucks include master jaws—standard
commercially available soft jaws and other tooling can be used. No
special proprietary accessories are required.
The
complete kit is specifically designed for quick installation and
removal, for use when jobs require the increased precision of the
counter-rotating process without the need to dedicate a machine only for
this purpose.
The
counter-rotating chip box insert locates on the machine's existing
master bushing with no additional alignment required. The motorized
headstock engages the key-slot on the machine table and is clamped in
place. The headstock position is adjustable via a leadscrew drive
through a right-angle gearbox.
A
junction box is provided which mounts on the machine to be prepared for
the counter-rotating headstock. After the initial power and emergency
stop connections are made (schematics included), a quick-change locking
connector is attached to the headstock.
On-site
installation and training are available. For complete Eldorado machine
