The
Model SMC milling and centering machine is engineered for: production
automotive and heavy equipment machining; taking raw forgings, castings
and barstock; and qualifying them for use on CNC turning centers.
Both ends of the workpiece are machined simultaneously
in one step to assure minimal runout between centers, faces and rough
features. The four-spindle design allows the use of standard milling
cutters and centering tools.
The standard SMC machine comes equipped with a GE
Fanuc 18i CNC for programmable feed rates, workpiece lengths and
endworking styles. Large diameter ground ballscrews and hardened way
slides assure continued accuracy through years of service.
